Destination Wedding Videographer

Destination weddings are becoming more and more popular, and we have to admit - we love them as much as our couples who choose to have their wedding away from home do. Whether you're planning a wedding at an exotic castle in Europe, a lavish Lake Como wedding or a laid back Hawaii wedding, we're ready and willing to go along and create a fantastic wedding film for you. Of course, we love all weddings. Each is a fresh challenge and keeps our artistic juices flowing. Destination weddings give us a new plate of sights, sounds, colors, lights, scents, not to mention the unique ambience of the place itself. We have to think quickly. How are we best going to catch the essence of the area and the wedding in our images? So we have to be on our toes. We never know what we'll encounter when we get there. Aside from jet lag, an unfortunate but acceptable professional hazard, we may arrive to find the perfect light and superb angles. And just as quickly, we may run into the sun being in the wrong place (it happens!), locals walking into our frame, and unexpected weather. From the bright blues and greens of tropical destinations to the subtle tones of ancient stones in magnificent, fabled cities, we're happy to travel anywhere your incredible destination wedding leads you. Take us along, and we'll return you a priceless memento of your beautiful wedding in your special place. We specialize in destination wedding videography and offer the highest quality wedding films with an emphasis on storytelling and film quality. Our primary focus is always our amazing couple, the details of their wedding and their love story.

What is your approach to destination wedding videography?

Destination weddings are exciting as we get to step out of our comfort zone, explore new places, meet new vendors, amazing photographers, wedding planners, and florists. But destination weddings can be challenging. Our recent destination wedding in the Dominican Republic required a 20-hour flight with multiple layovers. On a recent shoot in Cabo, we realized that one video camera was overheating due to the weather. And while we use top-quality equipment, we need to prepare for the worst in terms of the pre-production process,  as we won't have as much flexibility as we do locally. One way to deal with this is to bring multiple cameras as a backup. A beautiful wedding in Italy presented itself with a different set of challenges, specifically language and transportation issues. Italy was amazing and we hope to go back for a traditional wedding in Tuscany one day. On a recent trip to shoot an elopement in Sedona, Arizona we had to hike for over an hour uphill. We found the perfect location and produced an incredible image for our couple, but some preparations had to be made in order to make this happen.

A Lake Tahoe wedding in December got so cold that our batteries started draining faster than normal.

Does your wedding style changes for destination weddings?

Just like your photographer’s style, our video quality doesn't change but due to the nature of destination weddings, wedding style, and location, we tend to spend more time filming and focus more on the surrounding destination. We are very familiar with some of our favorite wedding venues in the Bay Area, but that's not the case when it comes to destinations, like Italy. We have to research ahead of time and probably do a site visit before the event. A quality wedding video has to take that into account.

Each destination wedding requires two video professionals. A primary cinematographer and an assistant or second cinematographer. Even when filming intimate weddings or elopements. the complexity and logistics of destination weddings require two professional wedding cinematographers.

Over the years our super wedding team received amazing feedback for our elite wedding videography services. Our high-resolution cinema cameras offer the highest quality video coverage and your wedding ceremony will reflect that.

Who are your favorite wedding photographers?

We've worked with the absolute best photographers and can certainly recommend a few, but that largely depends on your style video and preferences. We know some wonderful people in our industry so feel free to reach out for recommendations.

My husband and I are so happy that we booked Alex for videography! From the beginning, Alex was very kind and patient with the many questions we had. Alex’s responses to our emails were in a timely mannered which is wonderful when you are trying to figure out wedding logistics. Alex was willing to speak with us via the phone if needed, butw we never did because he answered all our questions via email. Thus, we did not feel stressed when working with Alex before the wedding. On the day of the wedding, Alex arrived on time to SF City Hall. In person, he is also very kind and made us feel comfortable with filming. He is experienced filming at SF City Hall, so if you plan on getting married there and want your special day captured, book Alex! You will not be disappointed. Once we got our video, we watched it multiple times and I shed tears every time because it came out so beautiful. Our loved ones also loved the video and complimented Alex’s professionalism that day. Thank you again Alex!
